Police said two men had been stabbed and a third had been shot before all three were left at the medical offices.
LOS ANGELES, CA — One man died and two others remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition after three wounded men were dropped off Monday at Kaiser Permanente’s Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Medical Offices, authorities said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics found the three men about 4:50 p.m. Oct. 26 in critical condition, according to authorities. All three were taken from the Kaiser facility to another hospital because the Baldwin Hills location is not a trauma center.
The Los Angeles Police Department later said two of the men had suffered stab wounds and the third had been shot. The man with the gunshot wound died from his injuries, while the two stabbing victims remained in critical but stable condition, police said. Authorities had not publicly identified any of the three men.
Police were still working to determine where the violence occurred. Although the wounded men were found outside the Kaiser Permanente offices, investigators had not established that the stabbing or shooting happened at the medical facility.
Officers also had not released information about what led to the violence. No suspect description was immediately available, and police had not announced any arrests. Authorities did not release additional details about how the three men arrived at the medical offices or who dropped them off.
The Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Medical Offices are at 3782 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Kaiser describes the location as a medical office building with services including a pharmacy and laboratory. The facility is separate from a trauma hospital equipped to handle the most severe emergency injuries.
The investigation remained active early Tuesday. Police had not announced a motive, identified a crime scene or released the victims’ names. The two surviving men remained in critical but stable condition in the latest publicly available update.
