Pastor caught selling crystal meth at church

WOODBURY, CT – Law enforcement agencies in Connecticut have apprehended a local pastor on suspicion of dealing crystal methamphetamine out of his church’s rectory. The pastor accused of the crime was associated with Woodbury’s United Methodist Church.

The pastor of the church was taken into custody allegedly due to an insider’s tip about the narcotics. Charges pressed against the minister include possession of narcotics with intentions to distribute, possession of controlled substances, and military use of drug paraphernalia, among others.

After paying a $10,000 bail amount, the pastor was released. He currently has an appearance in court scheduled for February 23rd at Waterbury Superior Court. Attempts to reach the pastor and his church to counter the claims were made, but neither party has released a response as of yet.

A news release provided by the Connecticut State Police revealed that they found the pastor in possession of crystal meth. Authorities found the drug both in its standard crystallized form and in a liquefied state inside a hypodermic needle.

The police disclosed that they arrested the pastor during a staged drug deal. They were able to accomplish the arrest thanks to a cooperative informant who initially tipped them off about the activity, according to Waterbury’s Republican-American report.
