WASHINGTON, D.C. – A manhunt is underway in the nation’s capital following a horrific incident where a man was set ablaze in broad daylight. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has released a photograph of the suspect believed to be responsible for the crime.
The incident unfolded around 3:05 p.m. on Monday at the junction of North Capitol Street and P Street Northwest. According to the MPD, the suspect doused the victim with a flammable substance before setting him on fire.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident. Surveillance cameras in the vicinity captured an image of the alleged perpetrator, which has since been circulated by the police.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rushed to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. The precise nature and severity of his wounds remain unknown.
