Santan, Arizona – A tragic shooting incident in Santan, District 4 of the Gila River Indian Community left a Gila River police officer dead and another injured. The officers, including Joshua Briese, had responded to a disturbance call involving a large crowd, during which they were both shot. Briese, a rookie officer, succumbed to his injuries, while the other officer remains in serious but stable condition as per the Gila River Police Department.
