KYIV, Ukraine – President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Denmark and the United Kingdom for their unwavering military support amid Russia’s relentless onslaught in Ukraine. The President’s comments come following the approval by the U.S. House of Representatives to allocate $60.8 billion in foreign aid to Ukraine. This long-awaited bill is now expected to pass through the Senate before officially becoming law with the signature of U.S. President Joe Biden.
In a social media post, Zelenskyy specifically thanked the Danish government and its people for their continuous support for Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of Denmark’s assistance in locating additional air defense systems for the Mykolaiv region. Additionally, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the U.K. for supplying Storm Shadow long-range missiles, numerous armored vehicles, and essential ammunition. He praised the U.K. and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for their strong support and commitment to further developing defense cooperation, with a focus on maritime and long-range capabilities.
Following these acknowledgments, Ukraine is set to benefit from a significant amount of military aid to bolster its defense capabilities against Russian aggression. The importance of international support, especially from allies like Denmark and the U.K., cannot be overstated in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
