Sequel Greenlit for Red, White & Royal Blue with Stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez Set to Return!

Los Angeles, California – Following the immense success of the film “Red, White & Royal Blue,” Amazon MGM Studios has announced the greenlighting of a sequel. The romantic comedy, based on Casey McQuiston’s bestseller, was one of the top three most-watched romantic comedies of all time last year.

The sequel will see the return of stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez, continuing the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry. Matthew López, who made his feature debut with the first film, is set to write the script for the sequel alongside McQuiston. Berlanti Schechter Films’ Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will produce the film, joined by Michael McGrath and López. McQuiston will also serve as an executive producer.

“Red, White & Royal Blue” follows the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz, who finds himself in a feud with Prince Henry that takes a toll on U.S./British relations. After a staged truce turns into a surprising romance between the two, the film explores themes of love, politics, and international relations.

Details about the plot of the sequel have been kept under wraps, with the announcement of its development coming after a screening of the original film at the Culver Theater. The film was a hit worldwide, attracting a significant number of new subscribers to the Amazon streaming platform.

Nicholas Galitzine, who stars in the film, is also known for his roles in other projects like “The Idea of You” and “Mary & George.” Taylor Zakhar Perez, the other lead, has also appeared in popular films and series like “The Kissing Booth” and “Minx.”

Galitzine is represented by Curtis Brown Group, WME, and other agencies, while Perez is represented by Paradigm and Principal Entertainment LA. López and McQuiston also have their own representation by various agencies in the entertainment industry.
