Shane Gillis Strikes Gold with New Netflix Comedy Series “Tires” – Premieres May 23!

Los Angeles, CA – Comedian Shane Gillis is set to make a return to the small screen with a new scripted comedy series on Netflix. The streaming giant has announced the acquisition of Gillis’ six-episode show “Tires,” which is scheduled to premiere on May 23.

In “Tires,” Gillis takes on the role of Shane, a character who relentlessly taunts and challenges the nervous heir, Will, as he tries to revive his family’s auto repair business. The series also features actors Steven Gerben, Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias, with guest appearances by Andrew Schulz.

Directed by John McKeever, “Tires” marks the second collaboration between Gillis and McKeever’s production company, Dad Sick Productions, following the success of Gillis’ stand-up special “Beautiful Dogs.” The show’s executive producers include Brandon James from Rough House, Brian Stern and Kenneth Slotnick from AGI Entertainment Media & Management, and Becky Astphan.

Furthermore, Netflix has commissioned a new stand-up special from Gillis, following the success of his 2023 special “Beautiful Dogs,” which garnered international acclaim and ranked in the Top 10 in multiple countries.

In addition to his work on Netflix, Gillis is scheduled to perform live at the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Fest in Los Angeles, with shows at the Greek Theater on May 4 and the Kia Forum on May 8.

Gillis recently made headlines for his hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live” and jokingly addressed his past controversy involving the show during his opening monologue. Despite facing scrutiny in the past for his use of racial slurs, Gillis has continued to build a successful career in comedy, earning recognition at events like Comedy Central’s Clusterfest and Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.
