Shooting near police station leaves one dead, two more injured

In a shocking incident on Tuesday evening, one person lost their life and two others were injured in a shooting close to a police station in Georgia.

Barnesville Police Chief, Belinda Penamon, reported that officers in the station on Mill Street heard gunshots at around 6 p.m. Acting quickly, they ran to the adjacent street where they discovered three people had been shot.

According to investigators, the victims – two women and a man – were targeted in a drive-by shooting. Tragically, one of the women succumbed to her injuries. The other two victims were hospitalized for their injuries.

As of now, the identities of the victims have not been disclosed, nor is there any information available about the health condition of the two survivors. What is known, however, is that none of the victims were from Barnesville, where the shooting occurred.

There are still unanswered questions surrounding this violent act. The police have yet to comment on what might have triggered the shooting, or whether they have identified any potential suspects.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called upon to delve into this case. This shooting incident is particularly shocking as Barnesville had not witnessed a murder in over two years, as mentioned by Chief Penamon.
