Teen arrested for gruesome murder of her newborn baby

GORDON, NE – A teenage girl in Nebraska is facing serious charges after allegedly killing her newborn baby. The 16-year-old, who remains unidentified due to her age, has been charged with first-degree murder and the use of a deadly weapon.

Local authorities were summoned to the girl’s residence in Gordon, Nebraska, on November 6, following a distress call about a teenager who had just given birth and the infant was not breathing. The initial report was made by the teen’s father, who claimed that the baby was stillborn.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers were met with a disturbing sight. The girl’s mother was holding the lifeless body of the baby, wrapped in a towel. She informed the officers that her daughter had harmed the baby.

Further examination of the newborn revealed a gruesome scene. The baby’s throat had been slit through the windpipe, and there were multiple stab wounds on the left side of the chest. Emergency medical services were immediately called to provide care.

The girl’s parents later revealed that the teenager had gone into the kitchen an hour before the incident and opened a drawer containing a boning knife. Although neither parent saw her take the knife, it was discovered missing after a thorough search of the kitchen.

In an attempt to cover her tracks, the teenager had told her mother that she needed to buy sanitary products due to a heavy menstrual cycle. Upon her return, she was confronted by her parents who had discovered blood splattered across her bedroom walls.

The mother stated that her daughter confessed to the crime. The father found the baby’s body disposed of in the girl’s closet, hidden inside an empty bag of dog food.

The teenager has since been arraigned on charges in Sheridan County Court. She has been assigned a legal representative and is currently being held without bond.
