A shocking discovery was made in Milwaukee when the lifeless body of a 17-year-old boy was found in an SUV. This happened four days after the car was towed to a city-owned lot in the aftermath of a crash.
Milwaukee police officers responded to a call on Monday morning. They found the deceased teenager on the floor of the SUV. The cause of the young man’s death is under investigation. There is also a police inquiry about how the boy’s body was overlooked when the SUV was initially examined.
The SUV, suspected to be stolen, was towed to the city lot on the previous Thursday after the car crashed into a tree. This caused significant damage to the vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy was behind the wheel at the time of the incident. Afterwards, the injured teen was apprehended.
Notably, this is the third instance since 2018 where city personnel failed to discover an individual in a towed vehicle.
Back in January 2018, an 8-year-old girl suffered a cold night alone inside a van after it was towed away during her mother’s arrest. The girl was discovered the following morning by a tow lot attendant who heard her crying. A lawsuit filed by the girl’s family against the city was settled last year with a $50,000 payout.
Earlier in 2022, the body of a 21-year-old woman was also found a towed car that was part of a fiery crash.
