Teen fatally shot while playing with Nerf gun

PHOENIX, AZ – An accidental shooting incident in Phoenix resulted in the death of a 13-year-old boy on Sunday, according to local police. The authorities were initially summoned to the scene at an apartment complex that was located near 7th Avenue and Mountain View Road around 1:15 p.m. following reports of a possible stabbing.

Upon their arrival, officers found the teenager, later identified as Earlric Reynolds, suffering from a gunshot wound. Reynolds was immediately transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

In a startling revelation, an 18-year-old man present at the scene admitted to the police that he had accidentally shot the victim while they were playing with Nerf guns. Reportedly, amidst their play with the toy weapons, the older teenager pulled out a real firearm and unintentionally discharged it, leading to the fatal shooting of Reynolds.

Investigators also found that prior to the arrival of the law enforcement officers, the shooter and other witnesses at the scene had concealed the weapon and moved the victim.

The 18-year-old responsible for the tragic accident now faces multiple charges including manslaughter, weapons misconduct and tampering with evidence as he is held in jail. As police continue with their investigation, more detailed facts related to the unfortunate incident are expected to surface.
