Two-year-old boy crushed by heavy equipment

In a heartbreaking incident in Cohasset, Massachusetts, a 2-year-old boy lost his life after being accidentally crushed by construction equipment at an auto repair shop. The incident occurred at Hajj Auto Service around noon on Thursday, as reported by Cohasset’s Chief of Police, William Quigley.

The toddler’s grandfather, who was at the scene, immediately rushed him to the closest police station. The boy was then swiftly transported to South Shore Hospital. Despite the immediate response, the medical team was unable to save the child.

Quigley, while addressing the media, stated that there was no indication of any malicious intent involved in the incident. He referred to the event as a “dreadful tragedy”, which has left a profound impact on all those connected to it.

A staff member of Hajj Auto Service, who was an eyewitness to the accident, received medical care following the incident. Quigley also mentioned that the police officers present at the scene were deeply shaken, with one officer being sent home due to the emotional impact.

The family that owns and operates Hajj Auto Service lives in Hull, a town neighboring Cohasset. They have been in the auto garage business for a considerable period, Quigley added.

The investigation into the incident is being carried out by the state police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.
