A shocking assault unfolded in the heart of Brooklyn earlier this week. An unknown woman threatened a toddler before stabbing the child’s mother in broad daylight, according to the New York Police Department.
The incident transpired around 3:30 p.m. on Monday as the 34-year-old mother was walking with her three-year-old daughter in a stroller. The pair came across a woman on the sidewalk, who started to direct aggressive threats towards the young child.
Dressed in a blond wig, the unidentified woman’s behavior caused a lot of fear and concern. To protect her daughter, the mother stood between the threatening woman and the stroller.
Her defensive action provoked the violent woman, who was armed with a knife. She stabbed the brave mother in the chest and repeatedly in both legs, leaving her severely injured.
Following the attack, the suspect ran away on foot. Meanwhile, the wounded mother was rushed to the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where she is now in stable condition. Thankfully, her young daughter was unharmed.
The NYPD has since released photographs of the suspect to try and identify her. She was captured on camera talking on the phone, carrying the blond wig that she had worn during the attack under her arm.
Authorities describe the suspect as approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall. She weighs around 160 pounds, with a dark complexion and a slender build. At the time of the attack, she was dressed in a red jacket, black pants, and white sneakers, and she carried a gray purse.
