Woman allegedly murders mother during Facebook livestream

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The Marin County Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division has revealed the name of a woman who was reportedly murdered by her own daughter during a live Facebook broadcast. The victim, 55-year-old Olivia Beltran Pacheco, was allegedly stabbed to death by her daughter, Tonantzyn Oris Beltran on Monday.

San Rafael law enforcement responded to an apartment complex on Cresta Way late Monday afternoon, following numerous reports indicating a physical altercation and stabbing incident. On reaching the location, they found Beltran, 28, on a balcony; she was holding a knife and standing near her blood-soaked mother, police reports indicate.

According to the officers on the scene, Beltran did not initially respond to their instructions. While a group of officers kept Beltran engaged from the balcony, another team forced their way into the apartment through the front entrance to detain her.

Paramedics at the scene treated Beltran Pacheco before rushing her to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her extensive injuries. The San Rafael Police later discovered that the bloody incident had allegedly been filmed by Beltran and broadcasted through Facebook Live. Upon contacting Meta, Facebook’s parent company, the live video was promptly removed.

Witnesses at the scene and those watching the incident unfold on Facebook were among the first to notify police about the crime. The motive behind the violent murder is currently under investigation.

San Rafael police also mentioned that Beltran has generated content on various social media platforms. Earlier on Monday, she filmed herself in the Santa Rosa Police Department’s lobby. Law enforcement agencies are now cooperating to uncover the facts of the case.
