Woman found dead in firefighter’s house

FRONTENAC, MO – A local doctor, 39-year-old Sarah Kathleen Sweeney, was found dead inside a firefighter’s home in Frontenac, Saturday. Authorities say they received a call around 6:45 a.m. and upon arriving at the scene, discovered Sweeney’s body. They referred to this occasion as a ‘sudden death’ case.

Official records show no explicit signs of injury or struggle, and the cause of death will be determined after toxicology tests and further investigation. Intriguingly, this is not the first death to occur in this same residence belonging to the unnamed firefighter.

Relatedly, in 2021, investigators shed light on questions surrounding the death of Grace Holland, who died from a gunshot wound to her head. Grace was the fiancé of a captain from a nearby fire department. Local police of Creve Coeur concluded Holland’s death as a suicide. However, her family raised doubts about the investigations claiming inadequate handling due to the firefighter’s relationship with the fire captain, Grace’s fiancé.

Javad Khazaeli, the attorney of Grace Holland’s family, pressed for the authorities to carry out a thorough investigation of Sweeney’s death in a statement: “We are saddened to learn of another death, especially of such a young person. We hope that the Frontenac Police do what the Creve Coeur Police and the County Medical Examiner didn’t do in the past and fully investigate this tragedy.”

Communication with Sweeney’s kin revealed that they had no knowledge of any immediate life-threatening medical condition that could have led to her sudden demise. Nonetheless, the family admitted they had not been in contact with Sweeney for the past two years, during which they tried to express their concerns about Holland’s death.
