Woman found hanging dead after leg impaled on sports complex fence

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A tragic incident occurred at a renowned sports bar in the Philadelphia sports complex when a 48-year-old woman was discovered dead early Saturday morning. The woman was found hanging from an iron gate at Xfinity Live!, a popular venue that has been operating since 2012.

The woman was reportedly attempting to scale a fence or gate outside the bar around 2 a.m. on Saturday. The circumstances surrounding her death are grim, as she was impaled through the leg and left suspended on the fence for up to five hours before her body was discovered and removed.

Philadelphia Police Department spokesperson, Tanya Little, revealed that the woman had sustained injuries on both legs and feet that were consistent with the nature of the gate. Little further noted that there were no other signs of trauma and foul play is not currently suspected.

After the woman was found, she was quickly transported to the nearby Methodist Hospital. Despite the swift response, she was pronounced dead at the hospital at 8:45 a.m.

On the night of the incident, the only event at the complex was a game between the 76ers and the New York Knicks. Xfinity Live!, which closes at 2 a.m., has become a popular pregame and postgame destination for Philadelphia sports fans.

Xfinity Live! has yet to comment on the incident.
