Nashville man arrested for killing his wife with a hammer and burying her on their property

NASHVILLE, TN – In a shocking turn of events, a Nashville man stands accused of a gruesome crime. Joseph Glynn, 70, is in police custody following allegations of murdering his wife, Jackie Glynn, 76, with a hammer and burying her body on their property in Dekalb County. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department made this chilling discovery after Jackie was reported missing.

Glynn reportedly confessed to the brutal crime, admitting to killing Jackie with a hammer at their home on New Year’s Day. He then transported her body to Dekalb County for burial the following day. In a bid to cover his tracks, Glynn misled Jackie’s children, claiming she had left due to terminal illness.

Suspicion arose when the children learned from Jackie’s healthcare provider that Glynn’s claims were untrue. Following the issuance of a Silver Alert for Jackie, investigators discovered her car near their Dekalb County property and a recently filled hole on the premises.

Inside the hole, which was six feet wide, ten feet long, and six feet deep, investigators found Jackie’s body concealed in a plastic vehicle cargo box, hidden under roofing shingles. The hole was reportedly dug by a contractor on December 16, under the guise of creating a burn pit.

The murder weapon, the hammer Glynn allegedly used, remains missing. Authorities suspect it was discarded at the Keltonburg Community Center. Glynn is now behind bars at the Davidson County Jail, facing charges of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and evidence tampering, with a bond set at $1,030,000.
