Cheerleading coach allegedly murdered by her boyfriend

JASPER, TX – The funeral for 24-year-old mother Rosalin Lewis will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Faith Temple Church in Jasper. Lewis, a cherished member of the community and mother of three, was found dead in her apartment last Saturday. Loved ones are now uniting to plan the service and remember the joy she brought to their lives.

The primary suspect in this tragic death is Lewis’s boyfriend, William Christian Thomas, aged 23. Thomas has been charged with murder and is currently held in the Jasper County Jail on a bond set at $1 million. To manage the unforeseen funeral expenses and to provide for Lewis’s three young children – Kaelum (5), Aria (3), and Alakai (2), a GoFundMe account has been established.

In a moving tribute to Lewis, her sister, La’Dhajai Lewis-Middleton, shed light on Rosalin’s vibrant life. Co-founder of “Stunning Stars Cheer & Dance” with her mother, Schwanda Scott during her senior year, Rosalin aspired to become a Veterinary Tech. In addition to heading Stunning Stars, she coached Jasper Youth Cheer and delivered private cheer lessons. Every young girl she mentored has reportedly joined cheer at Jasper High School.

Lewis was also passionate about modeling, singing, creating content, and practicing makeup artistry. She loved traveling and taking photos of her children. Rosalin’s radiant smile and warm presence will be missed by many.

The GoFundMe page, created by Lewis’s mother, Schwanda Scott, reflects on Rosalin’s influential presence in her community, calling her “Coach Ro.” The page highlights her ambitious dreams, her enduring impact, and her unforgettable legacy, soliciting community support during the family’s challenging time.
