Father’s Day shooting leaves two dead, three injured

In a tragic incident that took place on the evening of Father’s Day in the South Side of Chicago, a gathering was abruptly disrupted by gunfire. The incident resulted in two fatalities, while three others were left with serious injuries.

The shooting happened shortly before 8 p.m., as reported by Chicago Police. In the aftermath, a 37-year-old man was found deceased at the site due to a bullet wound to the head. Another man, aged 33, was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a serious injury to his neck. However, he didn’t survive.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man who was injured in the left shoulder and buttocks was transported to a hospital in a critical condition. Two other individuals, a 25-year-old with a torso wound and a 19-year-old with injuries to both legs, were also hospitalized in stable condition.

Some local residents that the shots appeared to have come from a car driving past Smith Park, where a barbecue was being held at the time. It remains unclear whether the people at the park were the intended targets or if this was a random act of violence.

Authorities are now on the lookout for a gray Honda sedan believed to be involved in the shooting. As the search continues, residents are still coming to terms with the shocking event.

As of now, no suspects have been apprehended while the detectives continue their investigation into this tragic incident.
