Mass shooter attacks college campus

LAS VEGAS, NV – A shooting occurred at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). This horrifying incident took place on Wednesday, resulting in multiple casualties, according to the Las Vegas Metro Police. The alleged shooter has been located and is confirmed to be deceased.

The shooting initially broke out near Beam Hall, a prominent building on campus. Local authorities were quick to warn the public to stay clear of the area, citing an ongoing investigation. There has been no official confirmation regarding the exact number of victims involved in the shooting.

In line with standard safety protocols, UNLV issued an urgent online notification ordering a campus evacuation and advising those present to “Run, Hide, Fight.” Shortly afterward, reports emerged of additional gunfire in the Student Union, where people were also directed to evacuate immediately.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman expressed her sorrow over the incident on social media, sending prayers to everyone on the UNLV campus affected by the situation.

Beam Hall, where the gunfire initially broke out, houses the university’s Lee Business School and is equipped with computer labs, classrooms, and food service kitchens within its five-story structure.

UNLV is in close proximity to the location of the tragic 2017 mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest music festival. The devastating gunfire at that event left 58 people dead and hundreds of others injured.
