MIAMI, FL — Two people were killed and two others were wounded in a shooting in southwest Miami-Dade County after a dispute led to gunfire, authorities said.
Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputies responded about 9:08 a.m. July 5 to the area of 21110 SW 116th Ave. after receiving reports of a shooting. Authorities found one man dead at the scene and a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators later learned that another man who had been shot made his own way to a hospital for treatment. A fourth victim, also a man, was dropped off at HCA Florida Cutler Bay Emergency before being transferred to Jackson Memorial South in critical condition, according to authorities. He later died.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened during a dispute, but authorities had not publicly released additional details about what led to the confrontation. Officials also had not identified the people who died or the two wounded victims in the initial reports reviewed for this story.
